The short version: we collect very little, only what you choose to give us, and we never sell or share it.
Your Bucket List, stamps, ratings and notes
These stay in your browser on your device. They’re never sent to us, so we can’t see them. Clearing your browser data clears them.
Email updates
If you sign up, we keep your email address and anything else you choose to add: your first name, where you usually eat, and what you’re hunting for. We also note the date and which button you signed up from.
We use it for two things: sending you new places and site news, and understanding what readers want more of (for example, which neighborhoods or cities to cover next). We look at those answers in total, not to profile anyone.
It’s never sold, rented or shared. Every email will have a way to unsubscribe, or you can ask us at any time.
Messages, place tips and city votes
What you send through the Contact or Suggest a place forms is read by a person and kept privately. City votes are counted without storing your IP address: a scrambled fingerprint of it keeps things to one vote per city.
Spam protection and location
Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly bot check, instead of a puzzle. “Surprise me” and “Nearest to me” ask for your location only when you tap them, and it never leaves your device.
No ad tracking
No ads, no ad trackers, no selling data. The site runs on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs to keep it secure.
